Explore the neck; muscles, functions and movements in relation to yoga and everyday life.
For teachers (and interested students).
- £20 -
We tend to receive many different messages about the neck in yoga and exercise classes and from various health practitioners. How much should we move the neck in class and everyday life, are full neck circles dangerous, do we need to separately strengthen and stretch our neck muscles, and should the neck ever bear weight? How much is neck posture related to headaches, jaw function, balance and overall coordination?
This workshop will cover some basic anatomy, things that may go wrong with our neck, references to recent research and an exploration of how we experience our necks might be affected by yoga, breathing habits and everyday life.
We will work practically with somatic explorations as well as specific exercises and ways to adapt yoga postures and movements, for our necks to function well.
This workshop is for all interested yoga practitioners, teachers and students.
