A fun session for people who can, and people who can't - yet!

A workshop looking at inversions and arm balances.
We’ll take time to examine fundamental principles, and then break down poses like Crow, Headstand, and Handstand. You'll be given lots of options, so you'll never feel out of your depth, and always have something to work towards.
This is a relaxed session - if you want to improve, there'll be useful tips and skills for you to practice, and exercises you can take away. And if you are a complete beginner, we'll go from first principles, so that you can begin to work towards poses in a way that's safe and suitable for your level. Even if you think you can't, you really can!
Richard will offer practical tips and guidance on how to go upside down safely. You’ll leave with a toolkit that you can incorporate into your own practice, to improve your balance, focus and confidence.
Come as you are, bring a sense of humour, leave with a feeling of lightness and connection.
About Richard:
Richard began yoga in 2016, coming from a background in Chinese martial arts and Qi Gong. He tries hard to make yoga a daily practice, but doesn’t always succeed! For the last three years he has practised regularly at OrangeYoga, and completed his 200 hours teacher training with Ian in 2023. He is currently working towards his 300 hours qualification. Richard likes a strong Vinyasa flow, and styles such as Ashtanga and Rocket. He really enjoys playing with hand balances and inversions, and aims to incorporate these in his teaching so that they can be accessible to everyone. As well as the physical challenge, he enjoys the feeling of connection and peace that yoga offers. He is keen to share his love of yoga, and the physical and mental benefits that it gives. Richard loves continuing his studies and practice, and is privileged to teach and share these with his fellow yoga students.
Wear and bring:
Due to the nature of the Crescent Bakery building, it's ideal to wear layers of clothing for cooler / warmer fluctuations.
Cancellations:
Please note workshops will be refunded only if we can find someone to take your place. Obviously we will take account of exceptional circumstances.
