Free Summer Solstice Vinyasa

with Susanne Lahusen

  Thu 20 Jun

  Studio

  6:00pm

  90mins

A Solstice Vinyasa practice to mark this special occasion.

Free to everyone.

About the class

The Summer Solstice marks the longest day of the year and the start of summer.

A change of season brings opportunities for transformation and for new ideas; we can use our yoga practice to support these new beginnings.

The sun is associated with the solar plexus energy centre between the navel and the base of the breast bone, - the Manipura Chakra, traditionally seen as the seat of resilience, vitality and inner power.

We will use different forms of sun salutations (not 108 and with any variation that is right for you) and energising postures to give our gratitude to the sun.

As always in yoga, we are aiming for balance. Strong fire based elements, and their expression in asana and pranayama practices will be balanced with their opposites, with the cooling elements of subtle, slow movement, soft breathing practices, as well as visualisations and stories to mark this special occasion.

Join us for this free community event in Studio 1.

Wear layers and bring your mat, and a water bottle.

Stay for tea and Magdalena's cake after with your fellow explorers.
