About the class

The Niyama complement the Yama and are recommended activities and habits for healthy living. Essentially this means making good choices for your health and well being and persisting with those good habits - simple right?!!

This workshop will share the foundations of understanding the 5 Niyama and how to apply them both on and off the mat.

This is a chance to work beyond physical practice, and turn inwards to develop a greater sense of wellbeing and contentment.

There will be practice as well as discussion, reflection and meditation.

About Jan :

Once you find and embrace a continued Yoga practice, you slowly realise just how much it will become a gift that “keeps on giving”.

Over 25 years, my practice has evolved and I am changed because of it. I still love how Yoga makes me feel! Yoga is my emotional and physical anchor, continually strengthening my body and mind, ultimately helping me to find a truer sense of myself. Even today, I’m still loving that there are new to things to learn. I see teaching as a further opportunity to share and work in partnership with students to help them to find joy in their own practice.

Janet’s teaching is influenced by her historical love of Iyengar and Dynamic Vinyasa, and more recently Yin, Gentle and Restorative Yoga.

About Sara :

As a teacher of both yoga and special education, one of Sara’s gift is her adaptable and insightful approach to those who join her for a lesson.

Sara believes that through both physical and meditative practices, Yoga connects us back into our mind, breath and body and quite simply, helps us to feel good.

Sara has been a special education teacher for the past 20 years and practiced yoga for the past 14 years, developing her understanding through the exploration of her practice and its ability to change our physical and energetic state.

Sara has two children who inspire and teach in their own way and a love of singing and how it may be used to open and expand our experience.
