Breath by James Nestor. A mid-read check-in for those reading along.
Free to everyone.
The yogi’s used the word Prana to mean the life force energy that courses through our body (what the Chinese called Chi) and to talk about our breath. To them, breath could change our physical and mental experience of life itself.
This is not a yoga book, but journalist James Nestor leads through an engaging and scientific (but not too technical!) story of how….
“No matter what you eat, how much you exercise, how skinny or young or strong you are, none of it matters if you’re not breathing properly”.
Breathing was so important to the yogis. So important to all of our teachers. Explore why you should care about it.
Even if you don't get to read the book in tie, (or at all - lockdown can make everything more tricky) you can still join in and enjoy the chat.
** PRACTICAL BITS **
Due to the nature of the Crescent Bakery building, it's ideal to wear layers of clothing for cooler / warmer fluctuations.
