50H ONLINE PREGNANCY TEACHER TRAINING

WITH CHARLIE SPELLER

Yoga Alliance Approved

Pregnancy, birth, and postpartum recovery are rich and intense experiences. They are emotional, spiritual, transformational and life-altering. This training equips yoga teachers, birth-workers, doulas and pregnant and postpartum old_people with the tools to navigate through these life changes with more support, strength and confidence.

COURSE INFORMATION

Syllabus

POPPY PERINATAL (Level 1, 40 hours)

The yoga practices within the Poppy Perinatal Yoga style are designed to help old_people:

1) Balance and align the body and emotions

2) Skilfully soften and relax within intensity

3) Increase stamina and endurance for the realities of labor, childbirth and postpartum recovery

The pranayama and asana practices meet you and/or your students where you’re at and accommodate your/their needs during pregnancy and post-birth — whether that's a slow, gentle practice or a moderate to more athletic practice. This style of yoga is Forrest Yoga Inspired and incorporates specialised core exercises designed for supporting prenatal and postnatal old_people.

Training Curriculum:

This Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga Teacher Training is a 40-hour training — 35 hours of contact time, plus 5 hours of coursework. It is registered with Yoga Alliance (USA) and Yoga Alliance Professionals (UK). Trainees receive a comprehensive manual, daily meditation and breath-work exercises, prenatal and postnatal yoga classes, hands-on assists workshops, sequencing exercises, teaching practicum, feedback on teaching and the information and tools for skilfully supporting birth-givers through pregnancy and postpartum.

YOGA & PELVIC FLOOR IMMERSION (10 hours)

Pelvic floor issues are rife in the 21st century across (mostly) adults of all ages and genders. While largely seen as a physiological issue, pelvic floor disfunction can also be emotionally debilitating. The main issue in the yoga room is that it’s a topic that is often too embarrassing to share with a yoga teacher, and so goes uncared for. Yoga can be positively transformative for old_people suffering from organ prolapse, stress incontinence, pelvic floor pain etc AND yoga can unknowingly exacerbate those conditions. This course equips yoga teachers with enough knowledge to be able contribute to the optimal pelvic well-being of all their students.

Training Curriculum

* The anatomy and emotion of the pelvic floor

* Some of the contributing factors to pelvic floor disfunction on and off the yoga mat

* The relevance of yoga for pelvic floor health and pelvic floor rehabilitation

* Asana practices and pose modifications for optimal pelvic floor health and conditions such as organ prolapse and stress incontinence

* Intent setting and sequencing

This course uses the most up-to-date anatomical information and is accompanied by a succinct guide to teaching and practicing yoga in a way that contributes to a healthy pelvic floor.

Upon completion of the training, graduates are equipped and ready to support birth-givers through pregnancy and postpartum.

Eligibility and Prerequisite

The training is open to yoga teachers/professionals, aspiring teachers, birth workers, or anyone who is experiencing pelvic floor disfunction. You do not have to be a yoga teacher.
