About the class

For yoga teachers who’d like to get comfortable with hands on assists.

This session will focus on standing postures, vinyasa and sun salutes. A separate session on seated and other poses will follow soon.

Offering skilful hands-on adjustments and assist is integral part of helping yoga students deepen their yoga practice, especially at a more advanced level.

This practical training course with Manu Rossi will give you the fundamentals of applying adjustments in a safe way following the biomechanics of the body and breath. The course is designed to give you the tools and confidence to offer your students hands on help in a safe and purposeful way.

A good adjustment can help a student safely access a deeper posture, set good alignment and explore energetic movement and intention. It may also release deep physical restrictions, as well as emotional blockages in a safe environment. Learning the art of giving adjustments is an important part of teaching yoga asanas and should not be underestimated.

The course will explore adjustments for sun salutations, standing postures, seated postures, backbends and inversions in addition to covering the following:

why and when to offer adjustments

* Foundations

* Using the breath

* Biomechanics and energetics of adjustments

* Sensitivity of touch

* Building relationships/consent

* Timing and working the room efficiently

* Handling difficult scenarios

* Working with different body types

* Working with injuries

* Self-preservation

* Overview of teaching in a self practice environment
