About the class

“The best bridge between despair and hope is a good night’s sleep” - Matthew Walker, Why We Sleep

All abilities and experience levels are welcome!

Join us for an afternoon of nourishment, a deep dive into the science of sleep, and to learn simple practices for harnessing the power of rest.

With warming lavender milk, a decadent snack and essential oil massage.

The average person spends around a third of their life sleeping, and sleep just happens to be the single most effective thing we can do to reset our brain and body each day. Yet, one in three adults suffer from poor sleep.

Research shows that routinely sleeping less than six or seven hours a night significantly suppresses our immune systems, disrupts blood sugar levels, and is linked to increased risk of disease. But what really happens whilst we sleep and what can we do to cultivate better sleep habits?

In Sanctity of Sleep we will dive into the science of sleep, discuss what happens in the body when we close our eyes and drift off as well as the importance of a good night’s sleep. Once we’ve gained a better understanding of this state called sleep we will look at ways in which we can improve our slumber through healthy sleep habits.

Cat and Sæunn invite you to devote your Sunday to rest, beginning with guided slow flow and breathwork for sleep, then connecting and learning in circle whilst indulging in a steaming mug of lavender milk and a decadent snack.

We complete our afternoon with a practice of holistic self-massage before drifting into stillness with yoga nidra.

Float home feeling rested and restored, equipped with everything you need for a good night’s sleep.

About Cat:

Cat is a yoga teacher with a BSc in Biomedical Science (Physiology) and a passion for neuroscience. Her teaching is informed by a deep understanding of the human body at a nervous system and cellular level. She interweaves her background in science with energetics and spirituality to share practices that shift that which needs shifting, and support your expansion and growth.

About Sæunn:

Sæunn is a yoga teacher and is about to graduate with a Masters in Public Health with a focus on health and wellbeing. She is passionate about taking the practice of yoga and extending it beyond the mat. She knows that life happens outside of the yoga studio and she wants to help you make the most of that life. She weaves in her background in dance and combines it with a keen knowledge of the human body and psyche to create a practice full of creativity which is aimed to find that elusive balance, on the mat and off it.
