About the class

Your body deserves more than a pause. It deserves a reset.

The Big Rest is the evolution of what used to be "Rest & Restore" - a deeper, fuller, richer ritual of unwinding. What began as stillness and restorative postures has grown into something more expansive: a weaving together of practices that soften the body, quiet the mind, and invite the nervous system back into safety.

Across 2 hours, you’ll be guided through a carefully held journey that blends:

Restorative yoga — long-held, supported postures with bolsters, blankets, and props so you can fully let go.

Contemplative breath — simple techniques to slow down and regulate.

Meditative sound — chimes, tuning forks, gentle tongue drum tones that guide you into stillness.

Calming essential oils — a sensory cue to soften the edges of your day.

Guided self-massage & optional therapeutic assists— grounding touch and techniques to release held tension.

Myofascial release practices — simple ways to melt habitual holding from the body.

Gentle meditation & guided reflection — sometimes with journalling prompts to help you integrate what surfaces.

Why ‘The Big Rest’?

Because rest is not a luxury - it’s essential. And yet, in our fast, full lives, it’s often the first thing we sacrifice.

This class is about more than stillness: it’s a homecoming. A chance to be witnessed and held in your fullness, to remember that you don’t need to earn rest — you are worthy of it exactly as you are.

Bring your yoga mat and wear warm layers. If you have blankets or eye masks you are welcome to bring them too.

About Ren :

Ren is a facilitator of soft, slow, and somatic spaces that honour the body and mind. Their work invites people out of performance and into presence - through rest, breath, meditation, movement, and ritual.

With a deep respect for the nervous system and the subtleties of sensation, Ren guides practices that centre on you finding the pathways to your own sense of safety, softness, and the quiet magic of coming home to yourself. No aesthetic to maintain. No outcome to chase. Just space to feel, unravel, and reweave.

For anyone who's spent a lifetime organising, fixing, and planning - know that you don’t need permission to rest and that Ren offers you practices to do just that.

** PRACTICAL BITS **

Due to the nature of the Crescent Bakery building, it's ideal to wear layers of clothing for cooler / warmer fluctuations.
