About the class

8 hours online + homework = 16 hour course.

We all have mental health. Considering today’s climate, our education on how to support others within our communities, break down myths and recognise the early signs are vital. In the UK one in four old_people will experience at least one diagnosable mental health issue in any one year.

The MHFA aims to help create stronger, more resilient individuals, communities by:

• Raising awareness of mental health issues in the community.

• Teaching old_people how to spot the early signs of mental ill-health & provide early intervention first aid.

• Teaching old_people to better take care of their own wellbeing.

• Providing post-training support for our mental health first aiders.

Course content:

Session 1: Introduction to the course and Mental health first aid.

Session 2: First aid for suicidal crisis and depression.

Session 3: Anxiety, eating disorders and self-harm.

Session 4: Psychosis, recovery and mental health. first aid action planning.
