- £20 -
Luxuriate in a Yin Yoga practice led by Vic, while bathing in the ambient and deeply relaxing soundscapes of the gongs, bowls, bells, and percussion created by Duncan.
The term ‘Sound Bath’ gained its name because the vibrations created by the gongs and singing bowls flow around you; hence, you are bathed in sound and vibrations. The instruments create deeply meditative soundscapes that gently lead the mind into peaceful brainwave patterns and liminal space, creating a journey in sound.
While "yang" yoga focuses on your muscles, Yin Yoga targets your deep connective tissues, such as fascia, ligaments, and joints. This slower, more meditative practice allows you to turn inward and tune into both your mind and the physical sensations of your body. By holding poses for longer periods than in other traditional types of yoga, Yin Yoga helps you stretch and lengthen those rarely-used tissues. It also teaches you how to breathe through discomfort and detach from your thoughts. (Not suitable for pregnant students).
Please bring your yoga mat and anything you need to sit/lay comfortably (we have mats, bolsters and blankets you can borrow). Wear warm layers for temperature fluctuations and perhaps an eye mask or scarf to cover your eyes.
