About the class

Touch can be an important part of somatic practices and yoga teaching. Traditionally, in teaching, touch is mostly used to correct. Used somatically, touch can help us raise awareness, it can give room for exploration and for finding new movement pathways, and it can also be supportive and re-assuring. Equally, touch is all about consent and clarity of communication between teacher and student.

This workshop will be mostly practical, attention will be given to both, the person giving and to those receiving hands on assists.

Inspiration will come not only from yoga, but also from the Alexander Technique and other somatic practices and Contact Improvisation.

Hopefully, you will leave with plenty of new ideas; you will receive detailed hand-outs to support the work we do in class.

** PRACTICAL BITS **

Due to the nature of the Crescent Bakery building, it's ideal to wear layers of clothing for cooler / warmer fluctuations.
